5 Things You Should Totally Be Doing This Fall Season

When the weather begins to cool down, we tend to fall into the same routine we fell victim to the year before: cozying up in our warm beds while being soothed by some Sleepytime tea and Netflix. It’s a promising routine that never lets us down exactly, but certainly starts to feel a little stale day in and day out.

When it’s not quite cold enough for winter sports but too cold to relax underneath the summer sun, becoming a homebody starts to feel like the only option. The transition from beach dweller to King or Queen of the Slopes can be a confusing one, but you don’t have to ride it out watching ‘Friends’ from start to finish for the eighth time. Instead, you can enjoy autumn just as much as the seasons surrounding it.

Here are 5 things you can do this Fall to get you out of your bed:

Decorate for Halloween

There is so much emphasis put on October 31st that we sometimes forget all of the planning that can go into having the most epic house on your block. Halloween may not be your favourite holiday ever, but it holds a lot of opportunities to let go of the hustle and bustle of everyday life and lets you start shopping around for something creative to do. Maybe there’s a certain theme you want to go with or maybe you want your garden to be a smorgasbord of every type of monster. Maybe you want to go shopping with your neighbours to coordinate your lawns or host a healthy decorating competition among yourselves. Halloween can be just as much for the adults as it can be for the children, and you can find all of your creative needs at PriceReel.

Exercise outdoors

Summers are humid, hot and sticky and winters are freezing, icy and snowy. Both aren’t terribly idealistic for a mid-afternoon jog, which is where autumn shines. There’s nothing worse than sweating because of the dampness in the air over sweating because of the work that you put in. Or when winter rolls around, having to endure whatever program someone put on the TV in front of your treadmill. Autumn, on the other hand, gives you that all-day crisp air with no ice to accidentally slip on while you’re in the zone.

Baking

There’s no denying that autumn is the perfect season to put on an apron, dust off your oven mitts and get out your egg timer. The days become shorter, foliage becomes warmer and flavours become tastier. There are so many feel-good recipes to make that fill our homes up with such delicious scents. And even if you don’t consider yourself a great baker, it’s the perfect time shop around for some ingredients and refine those skills. Start searching for your baking needs at PriceReel and watch as you wow your family with all the yummy foods you can make.

Ride an ATV

Riding an ATV down a dirt road is something that not nearly enough of us have done, and there is no better time of year to let loose on one of these bad boys than now. Zipping down a bumpy road with the wind blowing your hair from side to side… there’s nothing like it.

Enjoy the scenery

Autumn feels so short because of the summer refusing to fade away and the upcoming winter eager to get started. Often, we forget to be amazed by the colours and wonderment of the season before the first snow fall blows in and it’s too late. Mother Nature continues to amaze and it’s the least we can do to let it amaze us. Whether you’re going out shopping or meeting your friend at a cafe, don’t forget to be taken in by your surroundings.

There are so many great opportunities to be had this season, and so little time to have them. So maybe this time around we can enjoy the weather in between our online shopping sprees.
