What do you do in this case? You must stand out!

Today shoppers are not only looking to compare prices and for the best online deals; rather they are looking for the best overall value. Below is a list of ways to attract those price comparison shoppers and the online deals seekers, without decreasing your prices!

  1. Offer Free Shipping – Customers are more likely to purchase more if shipping is free or at a discounted Be sure to list your offers in your product descriptions.
  2. Have a Great Return Policy – Customers who compare prices most like wouldn’t mind spending a little extra on a product that they could return or exchange. Final sale purchases could lead to unfortunate instances where a customer is stuck with a broken product or clothing that doesn’t fit.
  3. Promote Location – Customers also tend to look for products that are closer to them. For online purchases, shipping costs may be lower. For in-store purchases, it’s way more convenient for the customer to great what they need. As they always say, “Time is Money”!
  4. Online Reputation – If your product is a little more niche and your competitors are also posting similar products, the customers may not only compare prices but may conduct some research online. They may be checking reviews on Google, looking through social media to see the realism of the product, demos on how to use the products are used and more. Conducting consistent reputation management by replying to reviews, consistently updating social media with pictures and sharing user-generated content could very well improve the chances a customer will pick your product!

Finally, focus on providing an overall value to your customer, think about your product from all angles (think of the four P’s of marketing – Price, Product, Promotion, and Place). Sometimes you can’t bend on one area, but you can definitely make up for it on another.
