A: Hello RoseB, Registration is purely optional and has to be completed online Squaretrade website. We need a copy of the purchase receipt at the time of filing a claim on your item. Whenever you have the time, you can easily upload the copy of the receipt online on your account. So that when you want to file a claim, it's already online and there are no delays. regards, Ali

Since SquareTrade is an extended warranty, any existing warranty from a seller or manufacturer does take precedent over the SquareTrade warranty. For normal mechanical and electronic failures, our coverage begins after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. Most items are covered up to one year by the manufacturer.
